Nihao! Welcome to Xian! Upon your arrival at the airport/train station in Xian, the tour guideand

driver will meet and greet you at the exit, and then escort you to the well-selected hotel indowntownXian. The rest of the day is free on your own so you can have a good rest for the jet lag or explorebyyourself around your hotel.
After breakfast, your guide and driver will pick you up at your hotel. Drive about 40km(about 1hour)to uncover one of the greatest archaeological discoveries in the world – the TerracottaArmyMuseum, which was built by the first emperor of China – Qin Shihuang to protect himinhisafterlife.There are about 8,000 vivid life-size Terracotta Warriors found so far. First, pay a visit tothelargestand most imposing pit which is believed to contain over 6,000 terracotta figures of soldiersandhorses. You will be amazed by the subterranean life-size army of thousands silentlystandingand guarding the emperor and also be awed by the fabulous artistic skills of ancient Chineseartisans.Next, move to another pit where you can feast your eyes with around 1300 warriors andhorses. Youcan get to examine the ancient army array by visiting the kneeling and standing archers, thechariotwar array and numerous troopers holding weapons, etc. After lunch, head to the Giant Wild Goose Pagoda, one of Xi’an’s most recognizable landmarksandsymbol of the magnificence of the Tang Dynasty. Da Ci’en Temple is one of China’s best examples of a Tang-style pagoda (squarishrather thanround). It was completed in AD 652 to house Buddhist sutras brought back fromIndia bythemonkXuan Zang. His travels inspired one of the best-known works of Chinese literature, JourneytotheWest. Later, visit the Ancient City Wall, also known as the Fortification of Xian, representingoneofthe oldest, largest, and best-preserved Chinese city walls. Spend time leisurely walkingthewall andenjoying its inner and outer walls, watchtowers, and moat, taking in panoramic views of modernXian.
