Itinerary
Upon arrival at the airport, our staff will greet you with the warmest smiles and rosy cheeks typical of the high-altitude region. As a newly arrived visitor to the plateau, the best advice is to slow down and relax. We will transfer you to your hotel for ample rest, allowing your body to gradually acclimate to the high-altitude environment. Tashi Delek!! - Pick up/drop off: Foreign and Taiwanese travelers need a tour guide to pick up/drop off according to the regulations of the Tourism Administration. Chinese traveler without foreign partner will pick up/drop off by local professional Transfer Center. - Altitude sickness: With its much higher elevation, some visitors may experience symptoms of altitude sickness. We recommend taking everything slowly, getting plenty of rest the first day and staying very well hydrated by drinking plenty of water to minimize the effects of the high altitude. Starting early in the morning, we will head to Drepung Monastery, one of the most important Gelugpa monasteries in Tibet. Spanning the hillside, the monastery boasts magnificent white architecture, exquisite murals, and rich religious heritage. You will visit the main assembly hall, sacred scripture halls, monks’ quarters, and the ancient kitchen, gaining a deep understanding of Tibetan Buddhist monastic life. After lunch at a local Tibetan restaurant, we proceed to Sera Monastery to watch the world-famous Monk Debating Ceremony. Held in the courtyard, the debate is filled with lively gestures, passionate questions, and in-depth discussions about Buddhist philosophy, offering a unique and visually striking cultural experience. In the evening, a welcome dinner will be arranged for the group, followed by a return to the hotel for a good rest.

- Temple Etiquette: Dress modestly, keep quiet in religious halls, and walk around sacred sites clockwise.
- Debating Time: The Monk Debating Ceremony starts at 15:00 daily; please arrive on time to fully enjoy the performance.
- Photography Rules: No photography inside the main halls; ask for permission before taking photos of monks.
We begin the day with a visit to the Potala Palace, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and the highest grand palace in the world. Climbing the 365 steps, you will explore the White Palace, Red Palace, exquisite stupas, and precious cultural relics, while enjoying a panoramic view of Lhasa city from the palace. After lunch, we head to Jokhang Temple, the holiest temple in Tibet, which houses the 12-year-old Shakyamuni statue, the core of Tibetan Buddhist pilgrimage. In the afternoon, you will stroll along Barkhor Street, walking the sacred kora with local pilgrims, visiting traditional Tibetan teahouses to taste sweet tea, and browsing unique handicrafts, Thangka paintings, and incense. The day ends with a return to the hotel for rest.

- Ticket Reservation: Potala Palace tickets must be booked 1-7 days in advance via official channels; bring your ID/passport for check-in.
- Internal Rules: No photography or touching of cultural relics inside the palace; follow the guide’s designated route to avoid congestion.
- Comfort Tips: Wear non-slip comfortable shoes; take your time to avoid fatigue during the climb.
Enjoy a leisurely breakfast at the hotel in the morning. Please check out of the hotel before 12:00 noon; if you need to store luggage, you can leave it at the hotel front desk. Subsequently, our staff will escort you to Lhasa Gonggar Airport or Lhasa Railway Station, with a 60-minute drive to the airport. It is recommended to arrive at the airport 2 hours in advance for domestic flight check-in procedures. After completing the check-in and boarding, the entire tour will come to a successful end. Important notes
- Please make sure your passport is valid for at least 6 months.
- Please avoid catching a cold before traveling to Tibet and keep healthy.
- On the first day in Lhasa, rest fully, drink plenty of water, avoid heavy exercise, alcohol and smoking.
- You must travel with the group throughout the trip and are not allowed to leave the group without permission.
- Only Chinese Yuan (RMB) is used in Tibet. Please prepare cash in advance or withdraw from ATMs.
- People with severe hypertension, heart disease, asthma, and pregnant women are not recommended to travel to Tibet.
- Please keep your Tibet Travel Permit properly; it will be checked at the airport and train station.
- Respect local religious beliefs and customs. Do not photograph or make loud noise inside temples.
- The temperature difference is large in high-altitude areas. Please bring warm clothes, sunscreen and regular medicine.
- If you feel uncomfortable due to high altitude, use the on-board oxygen and contact your guide if necessary.
