Tianmen Mountain is a single mountain peak named after the “Tianmen Cave” naturally formed at its summit. The entire scenic area is designed around several “highlight moments”: the world’s longest passenger cableway, the cliffside glass walkway, the winding mountain road, and Tianmen Cave.

Airport Arrival/Departure (Zhangjiajie Hehua International Airport, DYG):
- The airport is about 10 kilometers from the city center. There is an airport shuttle bus to the city center (about 20 minutes, fare about 15 yuan); a taxi to the city center costs about 30-50 yuan.
- Recommendation: Airport → Take the shuttle bus directly to the central bus station (about 30 minutes), then transfer to a minibus to Wulingyuan/the city center. This offers the best value for money.
Arrival by High-Speed Rail/Train:
- Zhangjiajie West Station (High-Speed Rail Station): After exiting the station, you can take a bus/taxi to the city center or the central bus station. Bus ride takes approximately 40 minutes, taxi fare is approximately 30 yuan.
- Zhangjiajie Station (Train Station): Located next to the central bus station, it’s within walking distance and very convenient.

- Summer (June–August): Hot and humid (25–33°C), with frequent rainfall, but also opportunities to see misty, ethereal landscapes.

- Mountain weather is unpredictable and rain is possible at any time, so be sure to bring a lightweight raincoat or folding umbrella.
